First Race Of The Season

First Race Of The Season

We just had Rob Jarman(Hope/Berghaus) and Rachael Walker(All Terrain Cycles) visit us for some early season training. During their stay they raced the first Slovenian national cup race(UCI C1) in Trbovlje. The track was great fun with a good mix of roots and rocks and some really fast sections. Rob had a great run to finish 1st in masters and less than 5 seconds of the fastest elite time, although the masters did have more favourable weather conditions during their runs as the weather deteriorated later in to the day. This was Rob’s first downhill race in ten years since he retired from racing the world cup! Rachael had more mixed fortunes, she was riding good all weekend, but a crash in her run prevented her from a podium finish. Nice  to see fellow Brits Scott Mears(Fox/Santa Cruz) and Dan Critchlow(Burgtec) coming out for the race. Some pictures from the race.

We also did some hiking from Logarska dolina just up the valley from us where Rob and Rachael could test out new prototype Berghaus jackets.
