ALPS TO SEA TOUR

The Alps to Sea is more of a point to point tour than our Alps tour, we take out the less interesting bits and the biggest climbs with the van. It takes in a greater variety of trails scenery, geography and culture. Slovenia is the most diverse country in Europe for it’s size.

The first three days we work our way South each day starting at the Austrian border and using trails through the Savinja Alps(our region), on the fourth day we arrive in the capital Ljubljana riding from the Alps to the foothills next to the city. On the fourth day we head south to the town of Ajdovscina in the Karst region and ride some of the biggest trails in Slovenia. On the last day we start on the final mountain before the sea mountain and head cross country taking in some climbs and nice descents dropping into Italy around lunch back into Slovenia and finish at the picturesque town of Izola on the Adriatic sea.

The whole week is a mix of uplifts and climbing. Some days more than other up to 1200m on the biggest day. We have designed the tour to minimise spending too much time uplifting and with more of a feeling of a tour with all the adventure that entails. Some days have up to 3000m of descending and others a bit less. The van is always nearby for support or we can make routes shorter etc for people in the case they struggle. But that has not happened yet. The trails are for people with a good riding level must be comfortable riding black graded UK trails or higher.

Our chalet for the first three nights and then B&B’s for the rest of the trip. We recommend a local restaurant on the last three evenings.

Ljubljana is the best airport, just under an hour transfer. Klagenfurt, Zagreb and Graz are also possible. Trieste would be our second recommendation, it’s close to the tour finish.

Due to the nature of this tour, we can not recommend to bring non bikers.
